Eloris is the only Goddess in the pantheon of the New Gods who was born a Deity. She is the child of Pelor and Erathis. Pelor was at one point in history the chief Deity of the Sun, and Erathis was the Goddess of Civilization. The two had a romantic entanglement, and eventually fell in love. Over their years together, they had a child. Taking a portion of each of their names, they named her Eloris. She was raised in the Heavens, and was a free spirit. That is until her father was assassinated. The God of Darkness and Evil, Nerull, who opposed Pelor in his every venture, finally got the best of his rival Deity. After Pelor was slain, Eloris became a very somber little girl. As the millenia passed, she became a very serious Deity, known for having a level head, and wisdom beyond her years. She had also inherited the lion’s share of her father’s powers. Seeing the wonderful Deity her daughter had become, Erathis stepped down as Deity of Civilization, and gave most of her Divine Power to her daughter. Now a more powerful Deity than either of her parents had been, Eloris assumed the titles and powers that came with being a Greater Deity in charge of the Sun or Civilization, let alone one Deity in charge of both.
