Language

The most common language in Althamar is the Common tongue. However, as there are several other races present in the country at any given time, there are many other languages present. These languages are all represented by a real-world equivalent. This allows for better roleplaying, players instantly recognizing a language by its sound, and of course the capacity to encourage roleplaying by people with more than one language under their belt. Obviously Common is the standard tongue of Althamar, but it’s neighboring countries have a national language, or at least a most common. Grippli is the most common language in Randragora, with Grom a close second. Gornashka’s national language is Orcish, but due to extremely large number of druids in the country, Druid is technically the most widely used. Most of the druids do speak Orcish, and a large number ARE Orcish. To the west in Selakas, there is no official language, but almost everyone speaks Selakashian Trade Tongue, known locally as Serketian. Lastly, the nation to the south, Haidowshen, speaks a language known as Haidow.
